about

Hi! My name is Farah Eltohamy (she/her), and I'm an independent Seattle-based journalist. I most recently was an investigative reporter for Cascade PBS, where I covered housing, migrant workers' rights and immigration enforcement. I started in foresight after realizing I wanted to get back into immigration reporting – but from the perspective of someone who'd wanted to mobilize my own communities in the fight against immigration enforcement in the way I knew best: through trustworthy, human-centered journalism.

in foresight will focus on resistance efforts from Seattle's Muslim and Global South diasporas. I plan to publish this newsletter on a weekly schedule, alternating between resource guides + explainers, Q&As, guest essays from local organizers and community leaders, and original depth reporting.

If you're interested in my mission, please consider subscribing for free or at the minimum tier of $5 a month. Your support will continue making this work possible.
